[Wheezy Waiter beard intro with beginning of Bananarama song]
[Craig unpeels a banana and takes a bite as a Bananarama song plays.]
Tee hee. Eating a banana is sexually suggestive.
A few days ago, Three Udders and a Studio commented, "Could you spend a morning eating a banana and drinking instant coffee while telling us why Twitter is the new, cool thing? ... because it sounds pretty stupid to me."
In my computer, I named that picture 'Three udders twitter.' hehe. Sometimes I'm funny.
Well, Three Udders brings up a good point even though he's really mean about it.
Twitter isn't stupid.
Twitter is one of them new social networking sites [screenshot of Wheezy's twitter] like MyBook or YourFace or MySpace or YourBook or WhamBot or ... I just made that up. The difference is in its limitations. You're only allowed to post a brief bio and a profile picture and status updates that can only be 140 characters long.
So try Twitter. It's everything Facebook is and less.
But I disagree. I think limitations are sometimes, and usually, a good thing.
Take the case of Hollywood director Michael Cimino. [picture of Cimino at the Oscars] No, that's not Jon Lovitz, that's Michael Cimino. After directing the Oscar-winning film The Deer Hunter, Michael Cimino was able to do whatever the hell he wanted. He went on to shoot over 1 point 5 million feet of film to produce the Western piece of *ding* Heaven's Gate. The original cut of the film ran over five hours long but the studio convinced him to trim it down to three hours. It tanked at the box office, costing studios millions of dollars.
The point is creative freedom can be a bad thing. It may distract you with too many choices or cause you to procrastinate. I try to set limits for myself all the time, like getting up really early. Then I only have a certain amount of time to finish my videos before I have to go to work, which is pretty soon. I haven't even showered yet. [smells his shirt and makes a funny face.]
I could ramble on about this forever but see, now I'm forced to get to the point. You go to Facebook and you're like, he befriended her, she put up a new picture, and you're just, you're just inundated with all this new stuff.
Twitter is all about making conversation because all you do is status updates. This tends to lead to some interesting or funny statements or a link to something cool. So that's Twitter. [makes farting/raspberry noise]
Send me some more winks and songs please. Dan?
